Forbes released a list of the highest paid actors from June 2014-June 2015, and it’s quite an interesting group of folks really. Be reminded that these actors don’t only fall on the Hollywood line but also on the fun Bollywood and Hong Kong walls.
Taking the 10th spot is Mark Wahlberg. The 44-year-old actor made it to the list with $32 million with the success of Ted 2 and Transformers: Age of Extinction, in which the later earned a box office hit of $1.104 billion. Who knows, maybe the next time, he climbs up the list by returning as Cade Yeager in Transformers 5.
On 9th place is the Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar with $32.5 million. The Indian actor is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood. Fun fact: The actor’s first film appearance was in a movie called Aaj with a 7-second appearance. Now that’s how you make your dreams come true.
The 8th spot belongs to another Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan who starred in the 2014 Bollywood movie Kick. He’s also a TV personality and of course, a singer. By 2015 he earned $33.5 million.
Amitabh Bachchan also made it to the list with $33.5 million. The 73-year-old actor gained popularity by the 1970s and starred in the 2015 film Piku which earned him a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor.
Claiming the 6th place is Ethan Hunt himself Tom Cruise banking in $40 million in 2015. At 53, it seems that the actor will still continue the Mission Impossible franchise.
Kicking off the 5th spot is Adam Sandler. At $41 million earnings, it’s like Sandler himself intends to grow old with comedies. He also recently signed on to make four films with Netflix.
Bradley Cooper also made it past the top 5 with $41.5 million, all thanks to his work on American Sniper and being an Actor-Producer himself.
3rd spot belongs to Vin Diesel who has been part of the long running franchise Fast and the Furious. In 2015, with the success of Furious 7, the actor earned $47 million.
At 2nd place is the one and only Jackie Chan. The Hong Kong actor, despite limiting his action movies compared to before, still made it on the list with $50 million.
And thus Iron Man flies his way to the top spot of Forbes’ highest paying actors in 2015. Robert Downey Jr., with a hefty paycheck of $80 million, will probably add more with his continuous projects as he reprises Tony Stark in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War.
We should probably start auditioning by now.
