The Walking Dead’s feisty lovebirds, Maggie and Glenn, will reunite as the grim world of zombies returns on February 14. However, actress Lauren Cohan teases that the big reunion will not be a happy one for the fictional couple.
Cohan, who plays Maggie Greene in the AMC television series, told Entertainment Weekly that although her pregnant character will finally reunite with her husband, the reunion will “be somewhat overshadowed by a lot of other darkness.”
“I think I can say that much. Because they have found each other and just in time to sort of help everybody else in this huge battle that’s continuing. They’re completely underwater right now. We’ve had both of them at the absolute cliff edge of danger and death,” Cohan revealed.
Instead of getting the happy reunion they deserve, Cohan hinted that it will be an action-filled one. “We shot that scene and I screamed ‘Glennnnnnnnnnn!’ so much I lost my voice,” she said.
It can be recalled that in its midseason finale, the appearance of some green balloons in the sky made Maggie assume that Glenn is still alive. The series left off with Alexandria’s walls collapsing and opening to a sea of zombies.
Aside from the couple’s reunion, the latest teaser of the TV series also hinted that the midseason will be an absolute bloodbath and not all characters will make it to the end. This links to earlier reports that a fan favorite character will die.
In the teaser, Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, stated that there are some big things that happened to them in the back half. “We don’t all survive and we don’t all take it very well,” he added.
Moreover, in an article of the Vanity Fair, it was revealed that actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been casted in the show as a major villain. He will take the role of Negan, a “game changer” antagonist who is described as a “horrific” sociopath.
