Allegiant movie spoilers have been circling around, with the release of the first half of the Divergent series finale coming. Things have not been looking bright as the popular young adult book to sci-fi film franchise had just lost its director. Robert Schwentke was reported to have left production in order to spend more time with his family. He had been the one in charge of Insurgent and Allegiant.
Originally, the second part of Allegiant entitled “Ascendant” was slated to be released by June 9, 2017 but this new development might push back the schedule as Lionsgate looks for a new director to take the helm.
But that’s not all as some Allegiant movie spoilers state that there will be a major change in the plotline of the popular YA novel. Could it be that Tris will be able to avoid her tragic ending in the book this time? It’s still unclear though fans have taken to Change.org to petition for such change stating that Tris should live at the end of the last movie.
The third film installment of Veronica Roth’s popular dystopic novel focuses on Shailene Woodley’s Tris and Theo James’ Four’s venture into the new world beyond the wall that surrounds Chicago that they are most familiar with. After the events in Insurgent, they are forced to escape the only place they know and venture into the unknown, only to discover that there are more truths yet to be uncovered. However, that is just the start as Tris and Four will have to decide on who they should trust as the battle reaches its crescendo and threatens humanity. However, this will require Tris to make a few sacrifices.
The Divergent Series: Allegiant will be hitting theaters on March 18 and stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Naomi Watts, Octavia Spencer, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Jeff Daniels and Kate Winslet.
