Virtual Reality (VR) headsets become increasingly popular again. This year, new improvements and innovation are yet to be discovered by VR fans (and soon to be fans) around the world. This list now gives you the best virtual reality headsets this 2016, whether for computers or for your smartphones.
Best VR headset #1: Oculus Rift
Although the kit costs about £500, Oculus Rift is considered the best VR headset yet. It is loaded with sensors, has integrated headphones, and even has a camera for more movement detection. Oculus Rift, however, requires a high-spec PC for a full system VR experience.
Best VR headset #2: HTC Vive
HTC Vive is another headset that offers a full system VR experience. Unlike other VR headsets, HTC Vive allows you to freely roam around your play room as it has lasers mapping your location. This, however, is the most expensive VR headset ever since it costs about £689 (UK price) or $799 (US price).
Best VR headset #3: PlayStation VR
PlayStation VR is an extension accessory for PS4. The headset itself costs about £349 (UK price) or $399 (US price). Using the PlayStation Camera with its PS4 controller, this headset detects your head movement for a more immersive VR experience.
Best VR headset #4: Samsung Gear VR
Samsung has partnered with Oculus to develop this Gear VR which is designed for smartphone use. This is best used for Samsung S7 and S7 Edge devices but other smartphones could use it as well. It costs about £100 plus an additional £70 if you want to buy the optional controller, too.
Best VR headset #5: LG 360 VR
LG has also developed its own VR although there’s no news yet about its price. It has 1.8-inch IPS displays for each eye and motion sensors allowing you to look around your virtual world.
Probably even early this April, some of the best virtual reality headsets this 2016 listed here are to be released. Don’t miss it!
